A monkey lived on a jamun tree by a river.
He gave sweet jamuns to his friend, the crocodile, every day.
The crocodile’s wife said, “His heart must be sweet too. Bring it to me!”
The crocodile carried the monkey on his back and told him the plan in the middle of the river.
“Oh! I left my heart on the tree,” said the clever monkey. “Take me back to get it.”
At the bank the monkey jumped onto the tree and was safe.
He never trusted the crocodile again.
