A free Biology lesson for Class 6 children.

Our bones and muscles together let us move. Bones meet at joints.

The shoulder and hip are ball and socket joints. They let the arm and leg move in all directions.

The elbow and knee are hinge joints. They move in one direction, like a door.

The neck has a pivot joint, so we can turn our head. The skull bones have fixed joints and do not move.

Muscles work in pairs. When one contracts, the other relaxes.

Earthworms move with muscles and bristles, snails glide on one foot, fish bend from side to side, and birds have hollow bones for flying.
