Adaptations: living in deserts, water and mountains · अनुकूलन: रेगिस्तान, पानी और पहाड़ में जीवन

A free Biology lesson for Class 6 children.

The place where an organism lives is its habitat. Living things have features that help them survive there. These are adaptations.

A camel has long legs to keep its body away from hot sand, and it loses very little water.

A desert plant like a cactus has leaves turned to spines, a green stem that makes food, and deep roots.

A fish has a streamlined body, fins and gills to breathe in water.

Mountain trees are cone shaped with sloping branches, so snow slides off. Mountain goats have thick fur and strong hooves.

Living things grow, breathe, move, respond, reproduce and excrete. Non-living things do not.
