A flower is the most colourful part of a plant.
Petals are bright and often smell sweet. They bring bees and butterflies to the flower.
Sepals are the small green leaves under the petals. They protect the bud.
Stamens are the thin stalks in the middle. They make a yellow powder called pollen.
The pistil is at the centre. Its swollen base is the ovary.
The ovary grows into a fruit, and the seeds form inside it.
A bud opens to become a flower.
