Digestion and our teeth · पाचन तंत्र और हमारे दाँत

A free Biology lesson for Class 4 children.

The food we eat must be broken into tiny bits. This is called digestion.

Digestion starts in the mouth. Teeth chew the food and saliva makes it soft.

The food goes down the food pipe into the stomach.

The stomach churns the food and mixes it with juices.

In the small intestine the food is fully digested and passes into the blood.

The liver makes a juice called bile that helps to digest fats.

The large intestine takes back water. The waste then leaves the body.

We have four kinds of teeth: incisors, canines, premolars and molars.
