A poor woodcutter dropped his axe into a river.
A fairy came out with a golden axe. “Is this yours?” she asked.
“No,” said the woodcutter.
She showed a silver axe. “No, that is not mine,” he said.
Then she showed his old iron axe. “Yes, that is mine!”
The fairy was pleased with his honesty and gave him all three axes.
